About Us

The Wiregrass Black Chamber of Commerece was founded in 2021.  It is a member of the Alabama State Black Chamber of Commerce Network.

The Alabama State Black Chamber of Commerce Network consists of the ASBCC, Birmingham Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, Mobile Area Black Chamber of Commerce, Huntsville Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Alabama Black Chamber of Commerce, River Region Black Chamber of Commerce, East Alabama Black Chamber, and the Tuscaloosa Black Chamber of Commerce.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build, support, and promote economic development and growth for our businesses, nonprofits, churches, and our communities in the Wiregrass area.  We are 8 County Strong: Pike, Henry, Houston, Covington, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, and Barbour.

Learning How to Use A.I.

On April 18, 2024 the Wiregrass Black Chamber of Commerce & the Alabama State Black Chamber of Commerce held a workshop, Artificial Intelligence, Small Business Digital Literacy Tour, Breaking A.I. & ChatGPT Barriers for Black Brands.  The event was held at the Carver Museum of located at 305 N. Foster St., Dothan, AL 36303.  The presenter was Neena R. Speer, Esq. Attorney & Founder Neena the LAST Brand, LLC.

2023 Business Expo

On September 23rd, 2023 the Wiregrass Black Chamber of Commerce held their first ever Business Expo in Dothan, Alabama at the Dothan Housing Authorities Event Room.  The event featured business from around the Wiregrass Area, Guest Speaker Maurice Scott an Attorney & President/owner of Credit USA and TV Personality from OWN Music was provided by the 2-2-5 Uptown Band.  Sponsors of the event included Dothan Housing Authority, Alabama State Chamber of Commerce, SBDC Alabama Auburn, Wells Fargo Bank, Dream Center, and the NAACP Economic Development Program.

Wiregrass Black Chamber holds Quickbooks Training

On July 26 – 27, 2023, the Wiregrass Black Chamber of Commerce held a Quickbooks Training.  The goal was to show businesses how to properly setup Quickbooks and to help them track and present their finacial reports better.  This would help them manage their businesses better and help the obtain funding by being able to show properly prepared financial reports.  The training was sponsored by the Alabama State Black Chamber of Commer and QuickBooks.  The presenter handling the training was CWJ Group of Semmes, Alabama.

Entrepreneurs and Innovators Conference 2023

On June 15th and 16th Members of the Wiregrass Black Chamber of Commerce attended the Alabama State Black Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneurs & Innovation Conference Summer 2023.  The event was held at the Historic Ensley Entertainment District, Tuxedo Ballroom, 2001 Avenue D, Birmingham, AL 35218.  The conference featured several speakers from different industries and representatives from Valley bank, PNC Bank, SBDC, Alabama Power, Hope Foundation, and more.
